GRATING FEATURES

groove and tong joint

* The groove and tong joint guarantees an high stability to the walking surface bacause it makes the staves integral one to the other;
* it creates a perfect self levelling between the staves;
* it avoids the passing of the dust from floor to floor.
* The head of the M 8 screw fits perfectly inside the female groove and avoids the rotation of the same. In this way the tightening of the nut becomes easier.

Groove and tong joint: while tightening the nut the screw head does not rotate.

 

The maximum lenght of the staves is 13 meters. The intermediate lengthes must be a multiple of mm 40. We always have in our warehouse staves mm 6.800 long ready.

HOW TO READ THE TABLE

The table refers to bulged staves, bulged staves for external use and smooth staves. For the holed staves, the loading capacity is 15% less. The datas have been obtained operating on staves rested on the two extreme sides and joined together by means of a screw M8 positioned on the middle of the span. The weight on them was uniformly distributed.
For each distance between two subsequent supports, we give different value of loading capacity: the first line correspond to the maximun loading capacity, the subsequent lines show the loading capacity relating to the most used rises.
In all the tests we always reached the collapse point of the staves: this happen when the test load is three times more than the maximum allowed one.

HOW TO USE THE TABLE: we want a walking surface capable to support a weight of 550 kg/m² with a distance between two subsequent supports of mm 1.500: looking at the table, with such distance , we find that we can use staves 12/10 with a rise 1/300 and a loading capacity 585 kg/m² or staves with thickness 15/10, rise 1/400 and loading capacity 558 kg/m².

When the rises requested are different from those indicated in the table, modify proportionally the load.
EX.: with bulged staves 15/10 on a distance of mm 1.500, the maximum loading capacity is 1.043 kg. with rise of mm 7 equal to a ratio rise/distance of 1/214 as indicated in the table.

 

All the datas shown in the table, have been obtained with accurate tests effectued on any type of staves manufactured by us.

TRANSPALLETS ON BULGED STAVES SURFACE

The bas reliefs obtained with a bulging operation, give to the staves an high rigidity capable to support loads on transpallets, assuring optimun smoothness and avoidin noises.
The groove and tongue joint is very important while using transpallts. Without this type of joint the stave could bow creating steps between the staves.
The staves must be joined by means of M8 screws positioned in the middle of two subsequent supports. We adwise 4 screws for square meter. In order to have the staves adherent to the supporting structure, it is very usefull to set brackets between the beams and the staves (adwise number of brackets: 1 for square meter).

While applaing a load according to the belt "A", the deformations of the floor are pratically nothing.
The loads of belt "B" determines a deformation on the floor of mm 1. Once we exceed this value the deformations increase rapidly.
For a safety operation, never exceed the load indicated in belt "A".

 

IMPORTANT

This values appaly for transpallets equipped with two rollers Ø mm 80 width 65 mm made in elastic material (standard wheels). The barycenter of the load must be placed in the middle of the transpallet forks
